As caretakers of this earth, we all have a responsibility to do our part to protect it. At Organized Evolution, we ensure that all unwanted items are donated or disposed of appropriately.
To help reduce your environmental footprint, we will:
REDUCE
- Teach the philosophy “less is more”.
- Encourage behaviours that develop mindful spending habits.
- Suggest eco-friendly ways to “green up” your home/office.
- Refer to local organizations that provide eco-friendly products and services.
REUSE
- Always work with what you have before purchasing new items.
- Find creative ways to repurpose or customize your existing items.
- Donate items whenever possible.
RECYCLE
- Recycle items that cannot be donated.
- Provide education on how to use your city’s Blue Box & Green Cart programs.
- Properly dispose of expired medications/vitamins and household hazardous waste.
- Recommend suitable kitchen recycling/green bin systems.

Contributing to Local Charities |
|
Items collected from our clients and friends are distributed to the most suitable local charities including The Living Rock, The Good Shepherd, YWCA Friends for Success, My Girlfriend's Closet, Habitat for Humanity, Bibles for Missions and Christian Salvage Mission.
Occasionally, we may sell items to raise funds for various charitable organizations. In the past year, we have raised over $1,000! Recipients include Hamilton Food Share, The Living Rock, AIDS Walk, City Kidz, Mennonite Central Committee, Micah House, Run for the Cure and Freedom Village.

We teach our clients how to properly use their city’s recycling program and, as a value-added service, we take household hazardous waste to the nearest community recycling centre.
Many items in your home can be dangerous to your health and the environment. The following items should not be placed in the garbage, flushed or poured down the drain: medication, vitamins, toiletries, solvents, cleaners, oil, paint, stains, varnish, shoe care products, electronics, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, propane tanks and thermostats.
For more information on recycling and for a complete list of household hazardous waste, visit the City of Hamilton’s Waste Management Division.
